This George Armstrong designed 0-6-0 saddle tank was an extensive class built in the Great Western Locomotive Works in Wolverhampton between 1874 and 1895. They proved to be an extremely useful and popular locomotive thanks to their lively performance and wide route availability, and in light of this had an incredibly long life, the last of the saddle tanks being withdrawn in 1951! This would be an ideal model loco not only for the branch line scene but also light mainline use on goods and passenger services covering many periods and a variety of liveries.
